James is a potter new to the Gallery and he says
" My work I decorate with a range of oriental glazes, these are applied quickly by dipping and pouring in different combinations which fuse together in the heat of the kiln.
Currently I am investigating using local materials from quarries, clay seams and wood ashes in my... glazes"

Thomas is a master of the nerikomi technique. Slabs ofclayare mixed with stains and oxides, stacked, folded, pressed into logs, sliced, and arranged in moulds to form a vessel. In this way, the numerous stacked layers appear as fine undulating lines embedded in a surrounding colour in the finished vessel.
