Hi Byungyoon,

Finding a job can take time. Some Canadian employers may prefer to hire people in Canada because they want to fill a position quickly. If you are overseas, you can apply for jobs or contact employers directly to ask if they are hiring. You can also begin your job search while outside of Canada by preparing a resume and cover letter and doing research on your occupation and different businesses in Canada. For more information: http://www.workingincanada.gc.ca/content_pieces-eng.do?cid=201.

For information about different occupation types, you can use the Working in Canada Tool. This Tool will generate a labour market report that includes information on job opportunities, outlooks and prospects, wage information, employment requirements, and much more. Hello Mohammad,

Getting a license to work in Canada as a physiotherapist will depend on the province in which you decide to work. An occupation may be regulated in certain provinces and territories, but not in others. If your occupation is regulated in the region that you have selected, then you need to contact the regulatory body for that occupation in that province.

Use the Working in Canada Tool to find out if your occupation is regulated or not, and to find the contact information for the regulatory body. In addition, the Tool will generate a labour market report that includes information on job opportunities, outlooks and prospects, wage information, employment requirements, and much more. Hi! I'm Mar'lynn A. Luartes, a Medical Technologist by profession. I'm currently working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. My question is: I wish to emigrate to Canada for the reason that I would like my daughter to have a good future and of course for my family also. My husband is also working here as a Pharmacy Technician in... the same hospital where I am currently working. We've been working here for more than 20 years already. My problem is, I am 54 yrs old and my husband is 50 yrs old. We spent half of our lives working here in Saudi Arabia. Because of our age, is there a chance for us to work and live in Canada? I have two sisters with their families who already emigrated to Canada. I would greatly appreciate if you would enlighten us regarding this matter.Read More

Caroline Verlaine
Hello there, we have made our initial application to immigrate to Canada and have been accepted into the 'system', they have adivsed us to start thinking about actually moving to canada and life there etc. whilst continuing to process our application. Our focus now is on finding jobs, I work in Marketing, my husband i...s a project manager in the Rail industry here. We've done a lot of research but we can't actually find anything/anyone who is willing to consider employing someone who is currently in the UK, for a job in Canada, despite us knowing that we definitely will be moving there. Does anyone have any advice for us on where we might look, who to contact ,etc. we are registered with all the usual sites, etc. I do speak french, we are professional people, we've got the funding, we just need to find some jobs. We are attending an EXPO on Saturday in London but I'm not sure it will be helpful, has anyone else attended this and found it useful. ThanksRead More

Hello Ikenna,

There are two types of occupations in Canada; regulated and non-regulated. Use the Working in Canada Tool to determine if your occupation is regulated by searching "software tester". If it is regulated, then you will require a Canadian licence before you can begin work. If it is non-regulated, you can review the employment requirements and view current job offers where specific qualifications and knowledge may be listed.
