Company Overview:
"World Malaria Day" was established and approved at the 60th World Health Assembly (WHA) in March 2007. It replaces "Africa Malaria Day" which has been commemorated every year since 2001 on 25 April and will be celebrated from henceforth annually on the same day, in order to provide education and understanding of malaria as a global scourge that is preventable and a disease that is curable.

Africa Malaria Day was a day that was set aside by African governments committed to rolling back malari... (read more)
Mission:
Member states of the World Health Organisation agree that greater awareness of malaria is needed. It is hoped that the establishment of World Malaria Day will mobilize communities across the world to get involved in the fight. Thanks to all who put this page together! It's a great educational tool to raise awareness. I just wanted to spread the word about the Global AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Bill which expires on September 30, 2008. You can research the bill and urge your representative in Congress to vote for its reauthorization. I've put together a short article on World Malaria Day, which includes information on this bill. If interested, you can find the article at: http://international-health-science.suite101.com/article.cfm/world_malaria_day

I work for International Medical Corps, and I want to express my greatest thanks for those who set this up. IMC is honored to be lending a hand in eliminating malaria as a public health problem.

Hi. Thanks for all your good work in world malaria awareness! I work with the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging (cfcausa.org). We support sponsorship of people living in poverty in 25 developing nations.

Part of our role in malaria-infested areas is to provide preventive measures, create greater awareness of the disease and to help in getting quality medical care when people contract malaria. We posted some personal stories on our blog today. They're at: http://cfca.wordpress.com/2008/04/25/world-malaria-day/

African countries and other nations commemorate April 25 to raise global awareness of malaria, and to reaffirm their commitment to fighting this disease. The United States is proud to stand with them. Over 5 years our tax dollars are contributing $2.1 billion to cut malaria’s mortality rate by 50 percent in target countries.
