Melissa, DADT is "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"- a law that prohibits gays/lesbians to serve in the military and DOMA is "Defense of Marriage Act" - which basically says that marriage is between one man and one woman, that the federal gov doesn't have to recognize same-sex marriages and that one state does not have to recognize marriage from another state. Our community is working very hard to get those laws repealed.

This is the refreshing response I received from EP COC: (No big surprise that Chico's is NOT a member.)

(1) That you are GAY
(2) That Proposition 8 is hurting you
(3) That you need them to Vote for Equality - that it's what is RIGHT.

Thank goodness we have some big cheese lawyers on our side of the issue.
