Hey folks,
We have published the registration page (finally) for FB Expo 2010.
This is for February 20-21, 2010 in Marina California. We have
commitments for presentations from Mary Karlin (wood fired cook book
author), the Fire Within (wood fired portables), Bella Familia (wood
fired catering), an excellent Pizzaiolo train...er, and Giustos Flour. And there will be more coming. The
fee is $25.
I will be posting a schedule and travel and hotel recommendations next.
It's getting close and we're getting excited, and we are looking
forward to seeing everyone.

We have introduced a great new, little oven. The Giardino series in available in 24" and 28" size, and it's cool because it is the only small oven out there that can be installed in a fully custom enclose. The Giardino come with the oven dome, floor and vent, plus all the insulation, door, thermometer, mortar, chimney ...and pizza peels. It's easy to assemble -- a very affordable. Very nice.

fornobravo This only has a vague link to Forno Bravo, but I have started running on the roads again this week (recovering from a heel injury), and it feels great. For the past 6 weeks I have been running on an elliptical machine -- and it just isn't the same. If my heel holds it together, I can get back to training. Have I mentio...ned that I am funding raising for the Christopher Reeve Foundation? :-) James

fornobravo We're in! We are happy to announce the new Forno Bravo location on the Monterey Peninsula. FB now has showrooms in the California Wine Country, and on the California Central Coast, along with our new (and ever larger) warehouse in Monterey. You can find contact details on the link below -- we would like to see you.

fornobravo It's the Forno Bravo Expo logo. Should we do T-shirts? Or, should we make a better logo? :-)

fornobravo This is for our commercial oven community (so if you are a residential oven user you can ignore this). FB recently introduced a new series of modular commercial ovens based on the core components of our high-end Modena Series restaurant ovens. The Modena Core includes all of the refractory components of the assembled M...odena oven, in a kit that a restaurant owner can use for a fully custom installation. These ovens are big and heavy, and designed for 24/7 operation -- they range from a 47" round to a 55" x 69" oval. Very nice if you want to run an artisan wood or gas-fired pizzeria, though not right for backyard cooking. Still, it interesting to see how these big ovens are designed.

Forno Bravo is sponsoring me to run the Boston to Big Sur Challenge -- running the Boston and Big Sur Marathons in one week next April. I thought I would give everyone an update on where we stand.
The good news is that Forno Bravo has already raised over $1,500 for the Christopher Reeve Foundation, and that I have regis...tered for both races. That's the good news.
The not so good news is that I have a partial tear on my right Achilles and have missed my autumn marathon. I over-did-it five weeks ago with a 10K race (38:50), followed by training and too much tennis all on the same weekend. Stupid? Definitely.
So for now, I am running on an elliptical machine every day while I heal (heel), and I am looking forward to getting ready for Boston. In the next few weeks I am hoping to start running 50-70 miles per week again, and building toward my goal of breaking 3:00 this spring.
If you are interested in sponsoring me, you can order one of the Forno Bravo eBooks, and we match your $10 contribution to the Reeve Foundation. The link for ordering the special eBook is below.
Wish me luck as these old legs recover.

We sent out the October 2009 Wood-Fired Newsletter last week. If you did not get your copy, you can find it and all the back copies on FB.com. The theme is temperature and oven management. We also introduced three new thermometers, including the new FB Infrad Thermometer that goes up to 1112F. Very cool.
