I am trying to think of a way to raise awareness of the OPPOSITION to the new breast cancer screening guidelines. I am a volunteer for Pink Ribbons Project - an organization that is dedicated to raising awareness for how Breast Cancer screening & preventive care saves lives - however you don't need to be part of a can...cer fighting organization to know that waiting until you are 50 to get a mammogram is insane, backwards and a bunch of other adjectives that probably shouldn't go where my Mom reads my postings.
Wouldn't it make sense to focus on technology that lowers the cost of Mammograms vs. take them away? Since when did having something cost too much mean we don't need it. Remember your first cell phone -- wasn't it really expensive? And now - don't you just buy them like bottled water? and same for computers -- prices come down when demand goes up and technology provides better solutions.
Saying something costs too much is a cop-out. Let's find a way to make it cost less and make it accessible. There are lots of great companies out there building new technology.
Ideas to help get the word out to our government that screening saves lives?
Here is one idea I'm toying with - 15% discount to
all orders that allow us to print the tag-line "Screening saves lives
- you have the right to health care that supports Mammograms and other
Cancer screening - early, when it can save your life"......
