gdgt Michael Gartenberg wants to hear your thoughts on Nokia's future.

discuss.gdgt.com
I'm working on a column on the future of Nokia and would love to get some thoughts from the crowd here. There's three issues i'm thinking about. Comments? Thoughts? Future? First, I'm confused by Nokia's platform strategy. Second, Nokia's services strategy is muddled. Third, Their most recent har...

gdgt Alright, want to try Chrome OS? If you have VMWare, you're in luck! http://gdgt.com/google/chrome-os/download/

discuss.gdgt.com
After Google announced the availability of the Chrome OS / Chromium OS source code, one of our engineers (Jon Ursenbach), immediately got to work on compiling the code, trying to see if he could get an instance of Chromium OS to run in a virtual machine. He was finally able to do it! You can downlo...

gdgt Google officially unveiled Chrome OS. Launch is still about a year away, but we now have more information and screenshots!

gdgt.com
Chrome OS, announced by Google earlier this year, is promised to be an open-source, Linux based OS that will run on both x86 and ARM based systems. It is going to be based on the Chrome browser and will be initially targeted at low-powered netbooks, with support for higher end systems coming later.

I use the chrome browser everyday, I have no issue with it. Can someone shed some facts as to why chrome is such a horrible browser?

I'm starting to wonder, if Google has $Billions, why can't they hire a decent designer to offer up just a little bit of eye candy in their new OS? I get that it's for netbooks and therefore slimmed down but still...

On another note, using only webapps kinda stinks. I've got an Acer Aspire One and being able to leverage non-webapps is needed for a person on the move.

gdgt Peter is over the Palm Pre. What are your thoughts on it after four months or so?

discuss.gdgt.com
The Pre was one of the first gadgets I put on my want list back in July when we launched, but after a few months now I have to concede that I'm just not that interested in it anymore. I get why people like the Pre and I think there are lots of great things about it -- I think the UI is amazing and...

gdgt This week's podcast is up!

features.gdgt.com
Looks like digital video is having an interesting week, between Best Buy and CinemaNow partnering up to make a huge push into device-based content distribution, as well as the rumor that Apple is pushing a $30 per month iTunes-based cable TV-killer. We also caught wind of the legal storm brewing bet...

gdgt It only took 6 months for Olympus to release a follow up to their E-P1 micro four thirds camera. Say hello to the E-P2!

As the second Micro Four Thirds camera from Olympus, the E-P2 provides the same image quality as current Four Thirds format E-System cameras because it has the same image sensor size as the E-30 and E-620 DSLR models, but in a much smaller body. gdgt A gdgt user is running a tweaked version of Leo (HD2) on his Touch Pro2. He's taking questions!

discuss.gdgt.com
The ROM I'm currently running on my Touch Pro2 is essentially a tweaked Leo (HD2) ROM hacked for use on the TP2. I guess in a sense that could allow me to answer UI questions about the Leo. Anyone? I've used it for a couple days...I'll post more general impressions this weekend. Though I can't accur...
