iRobot PackBot Check out the piece by Summer Barkley (of the 402nd Army Field Support Brigade) about the Joint Robotics Repair Detachment. This is the team that repairs and maintains me and my bro’s, so we can continue inspecting & detecting IEDs - so our soldiers don’t have to. -PB

I woke up this morning and realized…it’s fall! For some it means pumpkin pie and cider. For me, it means a new profile picture. Last few seasons I’ve focused on my abs… For fall, I thought to kick it up a notch and cover my overall physique - check me out with my Engineer Kit.

I use this kit for a number of missio...ns, including Route Clearance, Checkpoints / Inspections / Explosives Detection, Explosive Hazard Identification (IEDs / VBIEDs / UXOs).

iRobot PackBot Check out this report from local Fox affiliate in Kansas City which takes a look at, who else…SUGV. This was part of the U.S. Army showing off some new gear.

I have no problem showing these links on MY page. That said, next round is on SUGV…

iRobot PackBot A little shout out to my cousin SUGV here: Evan Ackerman over at BotJunkie says that SUGV training looks like fun. And for the most part, sure, the soldiers are having a good time learning how easy it is to drive this guy. However, there’s one clip where SUGV said it wasn’t fun – when they had him hanging out at the port-o-potties – which were in the hot sun…

I was cruising Facebook the other day - looking for embarrassing and compromising photos of friends - when I came across my cousin, Roomba.

Now, I feel like I’m a pretty popular guy, but this dude…he’s all over the place! Bravo Television network, SNL, etc. etc. I’ve added him to my favorite pages because it is great ...to see a family member doing well! Go follow him at iRobotRoomba (no space).

I'm heading back to work...

Hemanth Kashyap & Niranjan Kaggere from The Bangalore Mirror, a daily newspaper in India, highlighted my work at Bangalore’s Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium. Usually, I’d like to make some joke about having no idea how to play the game, but I was there for a serious job – looking for hidden explosives to ensure the safet...y of players and the fans.

After I conducted my search, they invited me to stay. I enjoyed the game and look forward to watching more. It’s not Fenway Park, but Chinnaswamy is a great stadium.

Some might say my capabilities are top notch. My rugged good looks combined with my ability to easily climbs stairs and roll over rubble while navigates narrow, twisting passages makes me top notch. While that all may be true; I want more because I... know I can do more.

To prove it, check out my new partner, Novint Te...chnologies, who will develop a Remote Touch Kit (RTK) 4 me - To be clear, this is still in development, but the goal is that RTK will allow my operators to ‘feel’ objects I’m holding and experience my surroundings. Enhanced sensing will help improve my ability to operate—especially when things get a bit dicey. Check out Novint’s release. -PBRead More

Gunnery Sgt. Chris W. Cox writes about the Marines from 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment and their assignment: Searching a vast network of wet, pitch-dark wells and tunnels in Afghanistan. Insurgents are using these tunnels as a form of covert transportation and storage for IED-making materials.

Check out how robot...s are helping the Marines are putting a stop to that (and keeping them safe). Photos are solid, too.
