Slave called shiver is an alternative rock band based in Vienna, Austria. Behind the name Slave called shiver are two partners who have a shared musical journey since 2006. At the time, the amateur band received a phone call to fill a slot at the last minute - a chance... to play for 200 people. Fired on by this challenge, they delivered an energetic performance for an excited crowd. The seeds were sown for Alicia Bankhofer and Philipp Rechthaler to continue as a serious rock band, aiming to forge the best of grunge, progressive and alternative rock into their own brand. The early years were spent gaining requisite experience on stage and getting to know the ropes of the business, while their live shows became an insider tip on the local scene. With the release of their debut “Superlateral” on 20 April 2010 Slave called shiver have chosen to relinquish their insider status and let the result speak for itself. Their style is infused with pulsating grooves, strong riffs and sharp harmonies, reminiscent of Pearl Jam, Skunk Anansie, Cranberries and No Doubt.
