Remember what a big deal was made that Murray wore Perry? How he was the first Brit in a long time, etc.....well, let's not forget that he's a Scot and doesn't like being called a Brit. Jumped ship from the line as soon as the money was there. I never did like those Fred Perry 2 tone hats. Ugly.

Emaleigh

Emaleigh Check out this tongue-in-cheek video, which looks at women's tennis, among other sports, and features an appearance by sportscaster and former tennis player Mary Carillo. The mockumentary style video is presented as a flashback to a fictional 1959 "Interracial Summit on Athletics" about the division of sports among races.

Why do certain races dominate certain sports. This long-asked question is finally answered in a recently unearthed film which reveals how race and sports play out in today's society.

Some here have expressed their belief that men only get a slap on the wrist. At the 1987 USO, McEnroe was fined $17,500 and suspended for two months for misconduct and verbal abuse. When you consider prize money, that's an astronomical number compared to Serena's fine, $10,500.

On Tarango, Times of London:

The ITF has labeled (Serena's) tirade a "major offense" that may be penalized by a fine or suspension from one or even two grand slam tournaments. American player Jeff Tarango was suspended from two tournaments in 1995 when he called an umpire corrupt and refused to play a match, reports the Times of London.

Serena is not my favorite tennis player. But I respect her determination, athleticism, and her power! She made a mistake and we all need to move on. Sooo many athletes have said threatening things...usually in other sports the men get thrown out of the game or suspended for a few if they talk back to a ref. And that is it.
