In 1996, troubled by the current state of vogue within the discriminating Canine community, Amy Kizer (known by her close friends as Aim-Dog) had a vision. Her concept--and mission--was to create a line of clothing and accessories for dogs that was both practical and stylish, and still of an exceptional quality. Out of sheer creativity and persistent...no 'dogged' determination, Wagwear was born.
Amy, who was born in Oklahoma City, always had a hand for design and an eye for fashion. Upon being accepted to Parsons School of Design in 1986, she moved to NYC to develop and refine her talent. Soon, however, she was scouted by Elite Model Mgmt., and her design ambitions were sidelined by a successful and enduring, albeit educational, modeling career, in which she graced the pages of Vogue and the runways of Paris, working for such fashion icons as Karl Lagerfeld, Calvin Klein and Donna Karan. Ultimately, Amy yearned to return to her original passion for design--and pups. So at 28, she became the sole creator, designer, maker, and marketer of all Wagwear products and clothing. Amy lives and works in NYC with her twin Shiba-Inus, Lucy and Tonto.
