@ Ismail, Rashid ao Khalil agree! Mong la awal khpal zan pejandal pakar de che mong sook you, zamon pehchan se pakar de....zaka ch awal ko mong pa khpalo ki jangigo...sook wayee za Awal Pakistani yem, byaPakhtun...sook wayee za awal Musalman yem bya Pukhtun....mong la ba da de daloo ao paro na rawatal pakar wee. We must respect every pashtuns ... See Moreand should start thinking of collective efforts and collective wisdom....Inorder to succeed,We must forget about our differences and all other thing, and should focus on our situation...why and how we get here and how to get out of it...not on attacking and accusing each other. We all agree on many things....At least on bringing Peace to Pashtun land Many of us agree that Pashtuns are being the target of this ongoing war and that Pashtuns need to wake up...Only few of us are giving it different name...like some name it a war against Muslim...or against Pakistan.......But its not the reality ...the reality is that its only Pashtun being killed in huge number during the last three decades....no where 2 million same people killed in war....But pashtun did killed since 1980s.....Ka oss hum rapanaseedo...no Pashtun ba bya chare hum pa na see...

Hi Friends,

I just joined this group. Liked the rich discussion here. Rashid is right. There is an urgent need for conscientious people amongst us to join together and develop a movement for change. People are fed up of our present mainstream leaders who, instead of solving the common man's problems, have instead multiplied them.

Hence people are looking for alternative leadership. ... See More

ARE WE WILLING TO 'BE' THAT ALTERNATIVE ????

I just wrote the following note with this in view.

According to conservative estimates, there are 25,000 full time taliban and thousands of part time taliban who work during the day with the govt etc but help taliban by placing IED etc etc. The goals of the movement are completely different then what they intially started on..Its more of nationalistic-mellati movement.

The only military that can defeat the taliban is the US..I am willing to bet $10,000 that the minister is completely wrong. EVen if you train the ANA and increase its numbers to 100,000,they will not be able to take on the taliban as they are not disciplined enough...and lack the will to fight without any support from ISAF.

Most of the raids or fighting they have been involved in--right in the back, they are supported by US-UK etc etc.... See More

"Did we learn any lessons from these self-inflicted wounds? Most regretfully not. In what has become the standard operating procedure of our security establishment, investigations were either not undertaken or where an enquiry commission was set up, its report kept confidential, citing national security concerns. "Ms Wahab has stated that it is the president... See More’s vision to transform Pakistan’s ties with its neighbours by pursuing economic and commercial cooperation without being bogged down by security obsessions. No matter how offended an average Pakistani might be at the president’s position on the restoration of Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry or the NRO or for having bunkered himself in the presidency while terrorist bombings take an increasingly high toll of innocent Pakistanis, one ought to give him credit for this vision. An important measure of the success of a country’s foreign policy lies in the nature of its ties with countries with which it shares common borders. At best Pakistan’s record is a mixed one — a tense relationship with India and mutually suspicious ones with Afghanistan and Iran. Pakistan’s relations with China have traditionally been problem-free. We do however need to be sensitive and swift in responding to Chinese concerns regarding the separatists in Xinjiang..."

Besides things like common heritage, language , culture and a soil of their own to live on , nations also needs , honest , visionary and brave leaders for becoming the masters of their own destiny...I bet we do have the first four ingredients for having our own land but the last and most important thing which is a good leadership is missing.... for better said by wise people that " The only safe ship in a storm is leadership"

Pakistan can potentially suffer only if pashtuns realize whats going on with them and then make an effort to free themselves from those chains and in that case it would be repitition of 1971 era. Otherwise, they are doing well according to their plans as I perceive them to be.
