Hello PCC!

Are you finding any foods that are usually packed in cans but now packed in Tetra Pak (or similar), and
have you asked your supplers to start offering this alternative?

Tetrapak has a lower lifetime footprint on the environment, particularly in areas like ours where they are recyclable. (At least according to ...this article http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2009/jul/17/ask-leo-tetrapak-recycling in the Guardian.) And--did you read the recent Consumers Report story on BPA leaching into canned foods? We want to get exposed to more of that if we can help it.

Thanks for listening!

PCC Natural Markets Pumpkin Pie From Scratch. (Recipe by @cooklocal)

Solid Pack Pumpkin. Solid. Pack. Pumpkin. If you’ve been cooking Thanksgiving dinner for years (or in my case, helping to cook Thanksgiving dinner with my mother for years), you’ve probably seen those words. Solid. Pack. Pumpkin.

We don't eat anything out of cans anymore because it turns out they're all lined with BPA (the closest we get now is food packaged in tetra pak and similar "juice boxes" which really aren't cans, and don't contain BPA).

Cooking up a little pumpkin winds up being super easy and its fresh and tasty!

PCC Natural Markets Cranberries are the Healthy Food of the Week. What's your favorite way to eat the tart treats?

Source: bit.ly
A cousin of the blueberry, this very tart, bright red berry can still be found growing wild as a shrub, but when cultivated, is grown on low trailing vines in great sandy bogs.
