Matthew, there are many options for students in the military and veterans at Penn State. Given your interest in distance education, I'd suggested starting at the following link: http://www.worldcampus.psu.edu/military-online/index.shtml

Penn State Penn State students beat Michigan State for the fourth consecutive year in the annual Blood Drive Challenge between the two land-grant universities. Good work by both schools competing for a worthy cause.

analyzing Penn State's wins, Six teams had losing records, one team was .500, two teams with winning records were mid major schools at best ( Temple and Easter Ill), three teams had winning records and two were ranked nationally. Penn State lost to the two teams who were ranked...and for all of this they are somewhere between 12th and 15th ... Read Morenationally...really...wonder what will happen if they do play Boise State? Blow out I would think and not for the Nittany Lions... How can a major school play such a soft schedule?

Some of us care a great deal about the volleyball teams and support them when they are at home. Women's volleyball games fill Rec Hall the way men's gymnastics used to. They could even fill the track although I suppose that isn't allowed now.

Well, it’s happening: I’m becoming a crank. My best friend told me so after reading my latest diatribe about lazy-whiny-grade-grubbing students. Before that I had ranted about drunken-noisy-destructive students.

Penn State Many kudos to Penn State's student-athletes and athletic department. According to info released by the NCAA this week, Penn State student-athlets continue to graduate at record-setting rates well above the national average. http://live.psu.edu/story/43073

University Park, Pa. -- Penn State student-athletes continue to graduate well above their peers nationwide, earning record-setting academic performances, according to statistical information released earlier this week by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the graduation rate is lowered by anyone that leaves early for the draft (Maybin as an example). yes he didn't graduate, but he was a first round pick, and a multi-millionare now. Also transfers hurt the rate too I believe, so even though Devlin is going to get his degree at another school, he hurts PSU's grad rate. That is why the rate is not 100%. (I'm not 100% sure about all of this)

Timothy, that's not true of the NCAA's measure (GSR). It excludes from the formula students who left the institution in good academic standing. The Federal Graduation Rate does not do this, and thus is in most cases a lower figure than the GSR. The NCAA figures its formula that way to account for the upward mobility and factors not related to academic standing. The GSR also includes students who transfer to an institution and earn a degree, which the FGR does not (and treats as nongraduates
