Perry Farrell NOW, I like it. NOW is the court of life we play on. Is the count we say we go on. Play with us and you'll find yourself coursing with NOW. Winners NOW, is the prize for "Most Alive." Always bringing out the past is passing stale cookies to your guest. Daring is trying NOW. Caring is giving NOW. Caring about NOW? You a...in't doin' it, till you do it NOW. NOW, I like it.

Perry Farrell Some people find it impossible to tear themselves away from the past. Some people never realized where they were, and simply keep moving. Still others can't wait for the future to present itself. Still others are living in the moment- aware of the past but not tied down and sinking- knowing of the future's promise, but... sharing that promise with fate. Applying the lessons learned, (And hoping it's not too late... )

Perry Farrell There was someone in my life (Who I did not care for,) that tried to convince me Jane's Addiction had to be "Dark and edgy," because that's what Jane's Addiction IS. His comments struck me as satire. l I have never calculated where the edge is man. That's not, well very edgy is it! Please everyone don't mistake me for ...a happy fool. I understand why people fall into dark depression and want to remain there. The experience of a tragedy sends you off in one of two directions. You can take your tragedy out on everyone else, or you can spend your life trying to get to a better place. I am trotting towards the better place...

Perry Farrell We're so dark and edgy. People are afraid to ask us questions. Like what time do you have? Or is this the right station? We don't look happy. We're dark and edgy, you get it? It takes concentration. Living in darkness during the summer afternoons, or the date of your own birth. Retaining bad things, and dwelling on the...m forever. What effort it takes to be dark- and edgy. So dark - So edgy...

Perry Farrell No one is here... I do not remember the last time I was alone at home. Etty is working- my boys are still away in Seattle. I used to have these spreads of solitude, before Etty and I lived together. I rested. When I saw her again I was fresh. Saturdays were mostly spent lounging in bed. I am going to write songs, and o...rder a pizza (With the t.v. and computer.) I am nervous with mild excitement. I want to do all this before anyone comes back home...

Perry Farrell True friendships aren't easy to maintain. People will let you know their best side and do a very good job at hiding the rest of themselves. When it's all said and done; their capacity to love is what you discover in them. They will either leap out larger than life, or prove to be a cheapskate. Have empathy in the later... case, because it really is their problem- not yours...

Perry Farrell In Seattle tonight. I brought my whole family up here. We visited Etty's old neighborhood. Etty has come such a long way, I am so inspired by her story. She came to this country when she was ten from Hong Kong. She's never spoken to me about being scared. We went to visit her middle school. She told me a story of some ...people treating her cruelly, ripping her clothes. But she's never forgotten those who were kind whom she cherished. I cherish her...

Perry Farrell The theme, and it's relative design... Right now they may be just abstract notes in your head. What's important, is that there is always forward progress; growth while remaining tapped in. Ever expanding who you are, yet maintaining identity and timelessness...

Perry Farrell Many relationships that I know of have not worked out. Often the two have gone separate ways, or they are still together, but laboring like a sore shoulder to an arm- in pain. I sadden when I think of the friends I adore who cannot find a life partner that recognizes their value. I have always maintained; you don't nee...d many friends, or lovers. You really, only need one...

Perry Farrell I had a coed massage tonight with Etty. I have mixed feelings about massage. On one hand I know that they can make you feel better (I do feel better; less stress in my body.) But I have odd feelings about strangers touching me deeply. It was better with Etty. We spoke (And moaned) and it still was odd to moan in front ...of strange people, but it was a new experience I would recommend to those looking for new kicks.

Perry Farrell I laid my personal Facebook to rest today. It was somewhat emotional as I had to respond to Facebook showing me pictures of people whom I had been in pictures with over the years with a remark above the image "Paul will miss you...Etty will miss you..." I got worked up and couldn't do it. I put it in "Deactivation"- pr...omising to return to it soon (Yes I checked off "Promising to return soon.") I am living in a world I did not ask for.
