Race For The Rescues is a 5K (3 mile) run/walk or 1 mile kid's race to raise funds for 7 non-profit, 501c3, rescue groups:
A Dog's Life Rescue, Animal Alliance, Best Friends Animal Society, Four Legged Friends Foundation, Molly’s Mutts and Meows, The Rescue Train & Stray Cat Alliance
Each year these seven rescue groups s...ave and find loving homes for approximately 2,000 dogs and cats who were facing euthanasia. They are solely run on tax-deductible donations.
On that same day we will be holding dog and cat adoptions for:
LA Animal Services
Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA
Fun activites for animal lovers of every age! Including Prizes and Awards For Top Racers And Fundraisers, Celebrity Art Auction, Rescue Fashion Show, Face Painting For The Kids, Dog Trainng Demonstration, Dancing With The Dogs Exhibition, Unique Pet Products and More!
A 5K run at the Rose Bowl in LA, including a kid's run too.

Nancy Gwapa hi colleen..I have just moved into a new place and are planning on getting a puppy in the next couple of weeks or so. We're not sure what breed to get though so any advice would be greatly appreciated! We'd like a small dog that is ok with being left on it's own occasionally. Its got to be friendly, and preferably not ...be an escape artist (like our last dog!!). I think we'd prefer a cross breed to keep the price down, and a breed that doesn't have common health problems is also important. We have a garden that it can go in everyday, but will probably only be walked about twice a week.
Brenda Powell I think that this is such a beautiful idea. I put down my precious kitty Prussia last September due to Kidney failure. She was my first companion from the day I moved out on my own in college. From that moment on, she stayed with me through everything. She was my confidant, companion and friend. I will never forge...t what an empty feeling it was to move into a new place with out her. I forever feel as though a piece of me is missing. I know she is always in my heart and in peace. Dara Dondiego I think Lindsey said perfectly what I want to say. I lost my cat Cassandra last November. I'm tearing up just writing this now. I have two great cats who I love now but "Casserole" will always have this spot in my heart that no one else can fill.

Nicky was my best friend. He was my baby. He died three months ago and I just miss him so much. There is this hole in my life now and nothing will ever be able to replace him. Words can't really describe this awful empty feeling.

Peternity I'm so sad!! This cute little iguana that's been living in my front planter got squooshed under my car yesterday! Poor little guy, he was so cute.
Patty Just yesterday I was forced to make about the hardest decision of my life in letting my sweet 21-year-old kitty, Babalouie, pass away peacefully & with dignity. I think that I've cried more over the last few weeks, as her kidney failure became worse & worse, than I ever have. Babalouie was my beloved parents' cat & t...hey ADORED her. When they both sadly passed away themselves, she came to live with me & I think of her as the best gift that my mom & dad ever gave to me! Ironically, while on Facebook last night, I saw an add for this page. I'm glad that it's here, as I know that for a long while, I'm going to be in mourning over the passing of such a great friend.

and w/in less than a year i lost the 2 loves of my life... my boyfriend justin and my beautiful oliver... okay that is all from me... if anyone wants to share their stories about their cats w/ me you can email me on here... olli is in a box... his ashes are in a velvet bag in a box... his name is on it in a gold plate...... he sits above my computer and i have a picture of him there... i think i'm gonna look at some of his pictures so i realize that losing my boyfriend wasn't the worst thing that could happen... it was losing olli that was...
