Apples and Oranges? polanco and feliz both have statistics that are similar. only difference is Polanco hit sandwhiched between Granderson & Cabrera; Feliz hit 7th. - Neither strike out that often and both make contact more times than not. OPS was pretty close between the two. Polanco is a good sign only if he hits ...in the #2 hole. If they are looking to use him in Feliz's old spot it would be better to sign Beltre or take a chance on Garrett Atkins.Read More

the phillies dont wanna give up everybody in the farm system to get roy halladay for one season it would be great to have him but stuipid as hell in the end cuz then u got no great prospects left for what one good year by halladay sorry not worth it lets stick with cliff lee sign him long term alot cheaper, bring up kyle drybek, hopefully hamels gets back to form and maybe go get john lackey or someone to help us we still got a great shot to go back to the world series for the 3rd straight year

you dont need a 3rd baseman that can play 6 positions, just need a 3rd baseman that can hit and play 3rd base

Derosa gives your more versatility since he can play infield and outfiled positions but Polanco is just a better 3rd baseman. He also rarely strikes out so you know he's always gonna make contact. Since we need a bench player that can play different positions to relieve Utley, Rollins, Ibanez, on their days off i think they should go after Polanco AND Derosa just to see if they can get both. Depending on what salary the players will ask for.

There are only 137 days until opening day, but there is still plenty of Phillies news during the off season. The Phillies added Quintin Berry (OF), Yohan Flande (LHP) and Jesus Sanchez (RHP) to the 40-man roster. Charlie Manuel finished sixth in the National League Manager of the Year voting...

Today the Phillies removed Eric Bruntlett from their 40-man roster to make room for some minor leaguers to be added to protect them from the Rule 5 draft. This essentially means that Eric Bruntlett will not return to the Phillies in 2010...

John, you may be right. Just hoping that they will upgrade their weak points to allow them to compete in 2010 and beyond.
