Strong southerly winds resulted in balmy conditions across much of the Interior on Thursday, and overnight into Friday at some locations. College Observatory in Fairbanks reported a record temperature of 59 degrees on Thursday, which exceeded the previous record of 58 set back in 2001.

On Friday, Delta Junction reached a new record high temperature of 59 degrees, which breaks the old record of 57 set in 1952.
