We've seen plenty of amazing speeches by the newly re-elected President Obama -- but did you know the man behind his words is only 31 years old?

Jon Favreau is the brain behind President Obama's speeches. At age 27, he became the second-youngest chief speechwriter in the White House. President Obama calls him his "mind reader," and trusts him completely with his words.

After graduating as valedi...ctorian of his class at College of the Holy Cross, Favreau started as John Kerry's press assistant on his presidential campaign. He then was promoted to deputy speechwriter.

He met Obama at the 2004 Democratic National Convention while Obama was backstage, rehearsing his keynote address. Favreau, only 23 years old at the time, interrupted him -- telling him his speech should be rewritten. Obama hired him as a speechwriter a year later, shortly after he was elected to the Senate. Favreau went on Obama's campaign trail, and was named as Director of Speechwriting in 2009.

He's been featured in several magazines for his wits and good looks: Time Magazine named him one of the "100 Most Influential People in the World," while People magazine named him one of the "World's Most Beautiful People."

We think he's pretty amazing!
