Mini line-up expands. Again.
The latest model to join the ranks is the Clubvan, a vehicle that Mini claims is 'the world’s first premium compact delivery van'. This 'new' design actually dates back to the Morris Mini Van of the early 60's. Aimed at the 'trend-conscious commercial user' the Clubvan is really just a Clubman in different clothes. The back seats have been binned, and in their place i...s a generous carpet lined load bay, touting a 500kg payload, and 860 litres of space. A fixed partition behind the seats and a handful tie down hooks help keep cargo restrained while owners race around the streets.
Three different engines will be offered; two petrols and one diesel, although sadly there will be no Cooper S model. As with the rest of the range, Mini offers plenty of scope for customisation including a choice of wheels, interior trim, paint colours and even a tow bar! The Clubvan goes on sale in Europe later this year, no word yet on whether it will be offered in NZ.
