This is the little male Fallow deer from Buxted this afternoon, found caught in fencing, cut free by finders, then relocated after a long search by Trev. His leg is probably too badly injured to be saved, he has been rushed to St. Tiggywinkles this evening.

    • Jean Matthews Yes, at least he was found. If the leg has to go, maybe he will become one of tiggy's herd of 3 legged deer?

Muntjac are the very tiny deer, Roe are the next up in size, dark coat colour and hardly any tail - with a white bum, the males have a fairly small pointed set of antlers. Fallow are the larger deer, similar in size to Sika, They come in 4 ...main colours, they have quite long tails, the fallow (coloured like the male in the photo) have a distinctive horseshoe of black colouring on white on their bums. The males grow large palmated antlersSee More
