The Carroll County Sertoma Club would like to thank Loy Howard, Gina Brandenburg, and all the wonderful people at Tanner Health System for their continued support of the Sertoma Drug Awareness Day Rally. Each year, as the climax to Red Ribbon Week, all of the fourth graders in Carroll County gather together for some loud music, boisterous cheers led by the University of West Georgia cheerleaders, and a visit from the canines of the Carroll County Sheriff's Office Drug Task Force. And in between they get some straight talk from counselors about the effects of drugs on the human body and advice on how to avoid giving in to peer pressure. This year's rally, the 22nd annual, was held at the UWG Coliseum. And as the event was the day before Halloween, the T-shirt sported a wicked-looking spider (representing addiction), and the theme was "Don't Get Caught in the Web." Thank you, Tanner, for your invaluable support.
