New York - January 15 2009 - A US Airways plane carrying approximately 151 passengers floats down the Hudson River after crashing minutes after takeoff. The passengers were able to escape the Airbus 320 through openings in the fuselage, half of which floated above the icy waters shortly after the crash, allowing passengers to on the nearly submerged wings before rescue ships arrived.
