The Placer SPCA When cats come in as best friends, we adopt them as a Perfect Pair. Why get one when you can have two?

The Placer SPCA What a week! 71 adoptions! We are currently running a Trying to Go Out of Business promotion, with the adoption fee waived for all cats & kittens - looks like we're off to a good start!

The Placer SPCA Big Ben is back on his feet! His surgery was successful, and he is expected to make a full recovery. We don't have a date yet when he will be ready for adoption. Please read our Press Release at: www.placerspca.org/press.htm. We are so thankful for the support we've received for his care!

The Placer SPCA For the month of November, have your pitbull or pitbull mix spayed or neutered for FREE through SNAP (Spay/Neuter Assistance Program). We are issuing vouchers that can be used at participating veterinarians for spay/neuter surgery, and Placer SPCA will pay the cost. Thanks to the clinics reducing their rates to help us out, and to a grant from Animal Farm Foundation. You must be a Placer County resident.

Another weekend over, and Stumpy is still here! This little kitten was all eyes when she came in at only a few weeks old, and with only three legs. Her future was uncertain, but a staff person took her home as a foster and she soon gained strength and grew into those eyes. Her foster mom hated to bring her back, but wa...s determined to let her find a forever family. She loves dogs and cats, purrs instantly when you pick her up, and is so soft and pretty! (this photo doesn't do her justice) Looking for a very special cat? Come visit Stumpy! (Renaming OK.)Read More

We'd like to give an update on Big Ben. We are in the process of scheduling his surgery with a specialist who will perform the surgery at Sunrise Blvd. Animal Hospital. The cost is going to be even more than we previously expected, but due to some press coverage we have had incredible support from the community for hi...s care. Meanwhile, he has responded well to steroid treatment to relieve the pressure and is able to walk. We are deeply grateful to the vet staff at Sunrise for their compassion & skill - the rate we are paying won't even wholly cover their expenses, and they have been great.Read More

The Placer SPCA Meet Bandit! What an energetic, social and lovable young lady! Bandit is eager to please and enjoys plenty of attention. She sits politely when asked and already knows basic commands like shake and come. Because she is still a young puppy (9 months), her positive training should be continued. Bandit gets along with other dogs and cats with the proper introduction.

The Placer SPCA Big Ben is a stray kitty who was here for months, then one morning he was paralyzed! X-rays revealed he'd been shot three times. A pellet had shifted, causing his paralysis. He needs very specialized surgery that will cost $800. Get well wishes are appreciated, and donations are needed for his care.
