Planet Bluegrass John Hartford once said that Mike Compton (pickin' in the video below) knows more about Bill Monroe style mandolin than the Father of Bluegrass himself... Mike joins guitarist David Grier for our final show of 2009 on November 7 in Lyons.

I think the tremolo sound on the original version is just about as perfect as it gets, and I don't think I'll ever match it...not yet, at least.
