Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts The Nov. issue of Teen Vogue is sparking conversation about teen pregnancy. The cover features pregnant teenage model Jourdan Dunn.

Jourdan Dunn, 19, is unmarried and expecting a baby, and her magazine cover is sure to raise up old issues about how teen pregnancy is presented in the media.

Call me old-fashioned, but I don't think teen-age out-of-wedlock pregnancy should be glamorized on the cover of a magazine aimed at teenaged girls. Yes, it is a fact of life. Yes, it occurs. But to feature a pregnant, unmarried teen (even if she is a model) is simply irresponsible.

I think the fact that she's unmarried in completely irrelevant. No one NEEDS to be married to have children. Some people eill get the impression that it glamorizes teen pregnancy, while others will see it as a way to open lines of communication on the topic between teens and adults. I don't think it's necessarily a bad cover story, but I haven't read the story either.
