Hailing from the rural north Suffolk town of Beccles, Plan Nine was formed in early 2005 by four restless young men from the local comprehensive.
Having won the hearts of the local children with hits from their self-released EP Plan Nine's 'Plan Nine', including the smash Tunin' Up (Wiv U), the boys took their defenestrative sound to the cobbled streets of Norwich. Whilst wooing the Wensum folk of this historic burgh they played with such acts as Rooster and Grammatics at venues including the Waterfront and NAC.
On March 17th 2008 Plan Nine's debut commercial release, controversially titled 'The Plan Nine EP', was unleashed to the world via the download function of the Interweb to staggeringly mediocre success.
Throughout the rest of the year the boys found themselves climbing the slippery ladder of London (England) gracing venues such as the Barfly and Purple Turtle, and opening to the thousand-strong crowd at the Stone Gods' homecoming in Norfolk.
In February 2009 drummer Dave Jones left the band citing "musical differences". After going dark for a short while, the band returned to the stage with a dramatic new sound and announced that Ben Timewell would be the new drummer.
Plan Nine are currently recording a new record for a 2009 release.
