recommended viewing?

I support Bristol's efforts to speak out against teen pregnancy. Of course abstinence is realistic, but it is unfortunately not the path that many teenagers take. I gave into temptation as a teenager and had a beautiful baby boy at the age of 18. I was uneducated of the risks of teenage sex and wish there were more information sources available ... I do not view my son as a mistake or accident, I, too, see him as a blessing - however it was a long, hard road.... he is now 9 and doing great, and I plan to educate him of the importance of waiting to have sex so that he does not have the same difficult path as I did.

Bristol is right when she said that abstinence education is unrealistic. In today's society, teens and preteens are being bombarded with sexual content. With most parents being embarrassed to talk about sex, they're left to interpret these images by themselves. I hope now that Bristol is with the candie's foundation that it will show people how important it is to educate American teens and preteens about safe sex.

that was an interesting read. Two things that kind of stand out to me. 1) the only "safe sex" is sex that is saved for marriage. As defined by Webster's Dictionary #2 definition - "Marriage: The social institution in which a man and a woman enter into a special social and legal relationship for the purpose of making a home and raising a family... See More." Sex within the context of marriage is seen as good and well, accepted to say it bluntly. Today's teens, and everyone else for that matter, seem to have forgotten this. 2) WHY does the website even sell "low cut" T-shirts with that particular slogan? I'm not OLD, mind you, but really, IF they wanted to portray that exact slogan, it should be a high-cut or even a regular loss-fitting type T-shirt. This "low cut" style is not helping any. It leaves nothing to the imagination, and makes young men lust even more, not less. Christ even tells us as young women to cover ourselves up as to not make our brothers in Christ stumble.
