A volunteer writes: Beautiful Isis, who's 52 pounds, has pretty pointy ears and gorgeous blue eyes. Her owners brought her to the shelter on 11/13/09 because they didn't have enough time to care for her, but they do report that she is very "loving and caring," loves to lie next to you, and adores everyone she meets: men, women, children, cats, birds and ferrets (she was raised with them), and other dogs. And indeed, she greeted the dogs in the backyard with a friendly look and a wagging tail. They also said that she's housetrained and that lovely Isis may be deaf, which may explain why she seems so incredibly stressed out by her new environment. Not only does she have to deal with being separated by the only family she's ever known, but she can't process all the commotion around her like other dogs can. She's very scared at the moment-scared and stressed-but I'm hoping after a few more days, when she sees that the people around her want to help her not hurt her, she'll return to the cuddly, loving 4-year-old that her owners knew and loved.

I am attaching pics of Snow White. She is approximately 9 months old and in desparate need of help. She is completely deaf..Se had a foster, who left town yesterday so she is back in the shelter. A lady was supposed to come and get her to adopt her yesterday and did not show. So now snow white could DIE AT ANY TIME!! I have talked with April the volunteer there and are trying to work out a temp solution. However none of the boarding facilities in their area will accept pitties. SHE NEEDS A TEMP FOSTER OR RESCUE NOW. Please dont' let her down....

Hi,We have an absolute sweety at our animal control facility in Evansville, IN. We have named her snow white and she is an all white Pitbull mix. She is clearly deaf, and in need of someone who has experience with deaf dogs and can provide her with an appropriate home. We really want to get her sent to a specialized rescue for deaf dogs so she can be sent to a home that we know has experience with spencial needs dogs. Please let me know if you can help.
