A few weeks ago, the CombOLED project (together with CEA-LETI, a French research laboratory) has announced a new efficient transparent white OLED. They have sent us a short video clip now of this display:

We got word from a senior manager from LG Electronics that says that while the 15" OLED TV's price hasn't been decided yet, it will be in the range of 2,500$-3,000$ in Korea (due to launch in November).

OLED-INFO LG is showing photos of their upcoming 15" OLED TV. These will be sold in Korea in November 2009 (and later worldwide). They also say they will introduce 40" OLED TV - sometimes in the near future...

LG will start selling their 15" OLED TVs in December 2009. Today they have published some pictures of their upcoming TV at flickr. It is rumored that they will officially announce this TV at IFA 2009 (September 4th). Here are a couple of nice shots, the rest can be found here:

Project TOPLESS is working towards OLED lighting, and have recently made a few Polymer-OLED desk lamp prototypes. The OLED lamps have five 2" P-OLED panels, each requiring 0.7W (the total power input is 3.5Watts - 5V dc @ 0.7amps).

The OLED100.eu project is a European 3-year OLED lighting project. The 30M$ project is a followup to the OLLA project, ended in June 2008, and it is lead by Philips, OSRAM, Siemens, Novaled and the Franhofer IPMS.

Last month Seiko Epson has unveiled a new inkjet-printing technology for OLEDs, suitable for large sized panels. We have talked to Satoru Miyashita, General Manager of Seiko Epson's Core Technology Development Center about this new technology and their plans for OLED production.

Quantom Dots are getting a lot of attention lately, especially as a new SSL lighting technology. One of the companies that is working on this new tech is QD Vision. Their co-founder and CTO, Seth Coe-Sullivan has agreed to explain the technology, introduce the company, and answer a few questions.
