Some dairyman from Calif. has some $$s and wants to go global. Of course, he needs a 30 acre manure lagoon for the dairy that he will build to put all of the small farmers out of business.

Farm Aid More than 25,000 citizens—including nearly 6,000 Farm Aid supporters—have called on the USDA to suspend loans for specialized pork and poultry facilities. The Campaign for Family Farms and the Environment (CFFE), a coalition of farm organizations that have been working since 1995 on issues relating to factory farms, co...ordinated the campaign and sent the petitions to Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack last week.

Why don't we wait to have the concerts to celebrate AFTER Farm Aid gets something accomplished by Congress. I'd like to see more public appearances by these celebrities ; that star in the concerts , as they try to make the general public AWARE of the crisis Dairy Farmers have been facing since the beginning of 2009 , and possibly putting more ... See Moreelected officials on the spot as to why they aren't helping.

I'm a Dairy Farmer in NY. I am now facing incredible amounts of debt , as we try to borrow tens of thousands of dollars each month to pay our regular monthly expenses in order to keep our 4th generation farm. I'm a member of Farm Aid , but can't imagine going to a concert until I KNOW something has been accomplished to help save our farm and the thousands of others like mine FIRST. Do Something Useful with my $ 40 membership fee PLEASE!

i spoke with a secretary in Governor Paterson's Albany office today and SHE admitted she didn't realize it was COSTING farmers money - to make milk , and has been since January. The banks are going to be in a hell of a mess soon with thousands of NOW worthless farms with millions in debt each !

Farm Aid

Farm Aid People have asked us how they can do more to help family farmers.
Today, we have a clear step you can take – if you live in Ohio, VOTE NO on Issue 2
on next week’s November ballot.

If you don’t live in Ohio, spread the
word to your friends and family who do that Issue 2 is a bad idea for
family farmers and consumers, and s...ets a scary precedent that could
radically affect policies in your own state if it succeeds.

I watched this event everyday until it was over. I have lived back and forth from Olympia Wa. to lewiston Id. The value on local shopping is so different. in Olympia the people really take pride in their local venders and farmers. lewiston they do not shop local its about walmart they will not even take the time to shop in local stores it is ... See Morehonestly the saddest display I have ever seen. Lewiston is surrounded by local farms and small town values but they will not go to the mom and pop shop down the street.

I agree with Michael. It makes me so mad to think how much money is WASTED on campaigns alone. I hope and pray that the family farm can survive. It's really tough all the way around for everyone. I don't think there is any politician that can look away from the mirror long enough to focus on the things that really matter. We're losing a part of America that many generations have spent so long and worked so hard at keeping alive.

agrees with Susan M. This past year I was blessed to see Neil twice - FarmAid 2008 in Mass. and then this year in concert. Two very different performances but each of them awesome! Watched the concert this year on the internet and have to agree with all the great comments about Gretchen Wilson - she rocked out!
