what 'new Obama film' is that? A new Alex Jones 'expose'? I'm not Obama's biggest fan, but that kind of unsourced fearmongering sounds hokey and hysterical to me. "He's gonna take away our guns and our internets!" Seriously. Take a deep breath, the sky is not falling. Corporations will do their best to exert control over individual users by ... See Morewhatever means they have at their disposal, including co-opting government representatives at all levels, that's the nature of the beast. But like with many other instances where they have tried to prevent sharing and/or piracy through technological or legislative means, or by browbeating ISPs into submission, it almost always backfires.

No, they were talking about possibly making it so the government could turn off the internet in case of some sort of a massive virtual attack. And that is the only circumstance under which it could be used. Don't spread your load of shit, and he never said anything like that. And that's IF that even goes through, which I doubt it will since it was talked about months ago and everyone was so strongly opposed to it.

yeah there's no WAY they can or would shut down the internet all at once. it would cause massive destruction, way worse than anything we could imagine. well, it's second-worst to a massive power outage across the country.....but still pretty freaking bad. no president would/should ever do something like that.

as for the article, i fail to see... See More how they can identify all illegal files, not only do they not know everything but they also don't have the time to waste on watching every user...so i'm not worried. big brother doesn't have enough time to watch us all.

Well, if he gets this in the form of "a button" as some people have said, let's just hope it's easily distinguishable from "the other button"!

Can you imagine? "My fellow Americans, um... uuhhh, yeah. Don't worry. At least we still have the internet, for the next few minutes."

The problem with a lot of you braindead idiots is you blame the corporations for Goverment force. Power comes out of the barrel of a gun. This isn't the fault of the great companies that have brought us all this innovation. In return, most of you want to force the corporations in the same matter (by the grace of a gun), but in a different direction... See More of net neutrality, etc. You can either have no government inteference in the Internet, or it slowly degrading from what was net neutrality and so called 'consumer rights' into absolute control of the Internet by the government. Take your pick, freedom or tyranny. You can't have it both ways.
