Word of the Year, according to the New Oxford American Dictionary...
I and many others thought the term was "defriend" or "de-friend", but if Oxford says "unfriend" I guess that's what it is.
No, wait a minute. I like "defriend" and I'm sticking with it. Makes more sense to me. One "de"s something that once was, like d...ecaffeinates. One does not uncaffeinate.
I have yet to have the experience of defriending anyone, though.

Readability works well rendering articles from the three major Web sites I tried: NYTim...es.com, CNN.com, and Cleveland.com. It has trouble with the first pages, though, as only the latest blurbs are displayed.

Today is Election Day in the U.S. Early on, in late September and early October, I had trouble finding solid, reliable information on some of the issues on our local ballot. It was a bit disconcerting to see one of the top s...earch results was a blog with an unprofessional title.
Google's new "Social Search" experiment may help with this problem.
"What we've done here is inserted, on the bottom of the page, content
written by people in your social network," Mayer said, adding that
Google hopes this will "really improve the overall relevance,
comprehensiveness, and quality" of search results."
If this works, when you search for, say, "Ohio Issue 1 2009" the results will include comments and blog posts written by members of your network.
