YES! It's about time. Education is the one thing that can better your life, and being crushed by debt getting there is counterproductive. just another way to hold people down...those that have, gets; those that don't have, borrows... and never are free. If there is one thing the govt should be doing, it is helping people get the education they need to get good jobs. Invest in your people not banks and credit card companies!

See? THIS is what worries me: by the time our 'representatives' get a clue (if they're even at this point inclined to), most of us will be out on the street, no work, no prospect of getting work, but still expected to continue to pay our bills, bail these clowns out and act like nothing's wrong! When does it END already?!

The problem I see with the reform is that they gave the banks enough time to SLAM us first. I'm worse off now than before the started talking about reform!

If it weren't so true, it would be outrageously funny!

I heard a program on NPR Radio today about a woman who didn't get a job because of her credit rating! I hope this issue is also being addressed by AFFIL.

... Arlene, the bigger problem is that we do not have control over our credit scores as we used to: pay your bills and keep a couple of cards open without delinquency, was the norm. Now, since the credit card issuers are about to lose a lot of money, they now want to charge you for having those cards, even if you pay them on time, don't carry a ... See Morebalance and/or are an outstanding customer! Then, the issuers also have the option of cutting your limit or closing your account due to inactivity. So one way or the other, one does not have control over one's score ... which as you outlined, can cost someone a potential job prospect.

Then why don't thet do somethink about it? Talk is cheap put a little bite with their bark!

What I admire and am now a part of is the fact that movies like Maxed Out, the diligence of Professor Warren and others are now turning our collective attention and focus to the matter. There is strength in doing this in numbers.

No only unsrcupulous banks but greedy credit card companies. Do you think that they are number 1 in campaign contributions! Where's our representatives heads at certainly not buried in the sand but.......

I am sick of the way these privte lenders and such ruin people's lives and refuse to work with you. They tell you one thing and then 'because they can' they change the agreements all around til you are the loser and your credit is ruined, etc. It's one thing to owe money BUT some threw honor and integrity out the window when they got this '... See Morepower' of lending and all. There is NO help for anyone but those who hold the common people's financial status in their very hands. NO bail outs for those who actually may need it. Makes one wonder what is actually going on in these companies and those who give them the power to do what they do- another way to control, own the people is what it looks like.

They, like oil compaines...need to get their's while they can...
