I'm tired of having to throw Benefit Auctions to raise money for our friends who are seriously injured or ill. We had three of them organized for October -- one for a friend who lost a leg to diabetes, one who lost a foot to a blood clot and a third for a 34 y/o kid who had esophageal cancer. We raised the money for the guys to get their ... See Moreprosthetics, but Dino died before we had his benefit. These men have all worked their entire lives, but have no insurance. The two guys who lost limbs went back to work on crutches, before they got their new limbs. They had to, to pay the rent. And Dino's dad died two days after he did, of cancer. Merry Christmas everyone.

Jan, I hear your pain and frustration. We are the only industrialized nation that doesn't insure that every citizen has access to quality medical care. For the amount that this nation spends on healthcare, we could cover every citizen if we took out the greedy for-profit insurance industry that stands between each person and their doctor. The ... See Morecurrent Senate Bill has a lot to be desired, but the Congressional Budget Office has announced that this bill will save money in the short term and in the long run, and will take many steps toward more people having access to medical care now.

I've read this insurance bill will cost so much a month that we will not be able to afford it! but will be forced to pay it or be fined or jail time. There are other solutions but Obama, Pelosi and the Dems refuse to hear the other options! I can't afford $200.00 to $ $600.00 a month! People that are hurting now will be worse off soon! I think a study of history is about to repeat itself!

Senator Murkowski demonstrates her usual sound vision and competence in her comments on Health Care Legislation. It is unlikely that any of her suggestions for removing weaknesses in the Health Care legislation will be heeded. Citizens of Alaska are proud of her leadership in the Senate and for her good fight on their behalf.

Keith, Every REPUTABLE scientist realizes that human activity and the resulting increased CO2 levels are affecting the climate, in addition to the natural events that effect climate. This is like the "scientists" who worked for the tobacco industry who denied that there were any health problems with tobacco. "Scientists" who work for the ... See Morepetroleum industry and the polititions who are beholding to them for their campaign contributions have done our country and our world a disservice by misleading people about facts that real scientists have proven. If only there was another world for those deniers to go and damage, but of course there is only one Earth, and we all have a responsibility to be good stewards of it.

No sheri, Al gore, is not a scientist. Obama, is not a scientist. NO scientist would ever even speculate that human activity is acclerating global warming - there is more than one variable in the equation and thus it can not be tested for. A scientist may recognize that it is a slim possiblity, but it will never recognize it. It is a blasphemy of ... See Morescience to suggest otherwise. There is several hundred thousand years of history that tellls us exactly what is happening. By the way, scientists never worked for the tobacco industry, and no scientist has ever proven that human activity is increasing the rate of global warming, that is impossible. You would have to understand science in the first place to even begin to comprehend what is really happening - that is of coarse, beyond what they teach you on CNN and CBC.
