im happy to view this because as an incoming freshman I would like to have a strong science department.

Phase I plans call for construction of a new 63,000 square-foot bio/chem building on the site of the former fine-arts building. For Phase II, the Eric Johnston Science Center will undergo an extensive remodel.

How sad! Whitworth won't be the same without him

It's amazing because I met him only once but he was so influential at Whitworth. I feel like he made students want to do well. I'm glad I went to Whitworth while B Rob was there!

Bill knows my brother's name and Jon went to SPU! I will miss Bill's photographic memory and his heart for others.

Thanks for 17 great years, Bill! You have made a huge contribution to Whitworth.

Perhaps the new East dorm needs to be named Robinson Hall, if everyone affected by his presidency would make a contribution toward that end....

I second that...Robinson Hall is a great name for East. If I had any money - I'd definitely contribute toward that...I'm sure they'll find a great replacement but Bill Robinson is surely one of Whitworth's best. I still remember the days when he'd ride his bike around campus, eat with students...he always knew EVERYONE's name...thanks for everything Bill!

May God bless him for his faithful years of service, even has he has immensely blessed us.

I was there his first year - has it really been 17 years?? - and am still amazed that he remembers so many of us by name so many years later. He will truly be missed as a great leader of a great university.

What an amazing legacy he will leave for students, alumni, faculty and staff - thank you, Bill Robinson!

I worked at Whitworth for a year and would have stayed simply because Bill was such a great person to work for and with. I wish him the best. I know he made Whitworth a great place. Naming the dorm after him would be a wonderful honor. Keep hitting the hoops Bill!

So sad. A very tough act to follow. Prayer's for the search team. Thanks to Bill for all he has done. His impact will be seen years to come!

What a blessing it has been to read over the years as Whitworth seemed to return to the central core that drew me to it over 50 years ago. Thanks Mr. Robinson. It looks like this will be the most unpopular news from Whitworth in years. Thanks for your service as unto the Lord!

Mr. Robinson was and will always be one of the most outstanding Whitworth leaders. Many people will remember this man who would never forget a name and face himself.

Tough news, but Bill Robinson has had such an incredible impact on quite possibly everyone he's met I don't think we're hearing the last of it from him. AFter hearing Bill in Pasadena, I was so impressed with his leadership and thoughtfulness. Whitworth will miss him. BTW, I bought and love his book on Leadership.

Robinson Hall does not even come close to honoring you as much as we should Bill, but it would be a great start! Thanks for everything and good luck with the next step on your journey. May way open wide for you.

"Relational style" is an apt description indeed! He greeted me by name every time our paths crossed during my entire 4 years at Whitworth. I was also impressed by his conciliatory approach toward all student and faculty factions, and I can't imagine another president like him.
