The way I see it, the movie is just telling the story of one black woman. It's not a documentary. No part of the film is saying "... and the average big black women grows up this way and feels this way about herself...." It's a hard thing to look at, and someone finally had the audacity to put it out there on the big screen. Many people are going to take it many different ways. Personally though, I appreciate it.
