Babble.com Is this TMI? Mom plans live birth on the Internet:

Want an unedited, raw look at childbirth? You'll soon get one. A first-time mom-to-be is planning to show her entire birth live online later this

This is not more TMI compared to watching A Baby Story and House of Babies on TLC. They show live births. I don't think it is wrong if she chooses to have this live for everyone to see. The only concern I have is when the child is older to view his/her own birth knowing the world has access to it.

Babble.com Is The Wall appropriate punishment?

How about not using the "what is wrong with the child" perspective & instead following the "what can the teacher do to help the child" approach? All kids can benefit. Punishment doesn't help the kid meet goals.

Babble.com is apple-picking a scam?

I'm a sucker for tradition. So I was excited last week to head out for our third annual Halloween Hayride to the Witches House at our local pick-your-own spot.

Sounds like a lot of the complaints were about other consumer's practices (not eating apples, just tossing them on the ground) and about their own overbuying practices. Not about the location itself. And, no matter how cheezy the entertainment, were your kids happy? or bored? I think they hit the nail on the head when they said this sort of thing is for your kids to make great memories with.

I grew up in Michigan and I don't remember ever having to pay for apple picking. REal apple picking involves going out to the orchard and having fun selecting your very own basket of apples and then gobbling up cider donuts and cider at the end. I have only discovered the "pay for the fun" thing as I've moved to bigger cities - they nickle and ... See Moredime you to death. But I enjoyed every bit of it and will continue the tradition every fall. Also, people who pick and throw out suck. Bad manners & wasteful and they are teaching their kids the same. it isn't the farmer's fault this happens, it's the patrons.
