The Ephraim Yacht Club

The Ephraim Yacht Club (EYC) is a family oriented sailing education and racing club. Itis located on Eagle Harbor in beautiful and historic Ephraim, Door County, Wisconsin. The EYC is open from Mid-June through Labor Day. It is a tax exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code whose primary... purpose is education of youth in the sport of sailing. Members of the club include permanent and summer residents of Ephraim and other towns in Door County, as well as many shorter term visitors to Door County. Both family and student memberships are available. A staff of US Sailing certified instructors teaches junior lessons in four two-week sessions beginning in June. Private and adult lessons are also available. Supervised Junior Activities, such as sailing picnics and a scavenger hunt, are open to all Junior members each week throughout the summer. The EYC hosts a full calendar of fund raising events to support the teaching mission, including the Opener, a 4th of July Ice Cream Party, the Regatta Bratfest, Founders’s Day Picnic and the Commodore’s Party. Impromptu barbeques occur almost every week following the evening Flying Scot races. Several weekly series races are run. Flying Scot races are held on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings. Flying Junior Races are held Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Optimist races are held Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. The EYC owns Flying Scots, Flying Juniors, and Optimist’s which are available for use by qualified members free of charge. Wet and dry slips for Flying Scots, Optimist’s, other sailboats, and powerboats are available to members. The EYC hosts an annual regatta at the end of July or in early August each year. The regatta includes Flying Scots and other classes. The Ephraim Regatta is the oldest on the Great Lakes, having been held every year since 1906. An annual Optimist/FJ regatta is held each July, a season-opener regatta is held in June, a Women’s regatta and a Junior regatta complete the regatta schedule.

EYC is a Family Oriented Sailing Club located on Eagle Harbor in Ephraim Wisconsin in Door County. Over 100 years old and going strong.
