Since 2005 no DJ on the Sydney R&B and hip hop scene has made an impact quite like DJ C-BU, this half Filipino half Australian has built one of the most impressive and respected resumes in Australia’s club scene today. His versatility, unmatched track selection, ability to read a crowd and natural party rocking talent has made C-BU one of the hottest and in-demand DJs amongst club goers and promoters, currently holding no less than 12 regular club spots in Sydney alone (as of June 2009). Listing these club spots only outlines his versatility, where he can heard playing sets of R&B, hip hop, crunk, neo-soul, old school, reggaeton and mash-up, while also doing the regular electro and Baltimore sets when needed. Understanding that the world of turntablism is massive, he has committed himself to exploring and learning all there is, always one to jump two steps ahead of the rest when he can. C-BU has also put his talent in the VJ scene, where he was one of the pioneers of the Sydney R&B VJ scene, helping bring awareness to the new technology that most club goers had only experienced in larger Asian clubs. As the VJ scene builds, C-BU is still considered one of Sydney’s first to venture down this new avenue. His talents have caught the eye of many individuals and groups as in 2007 he handpicked by Australia’s #1 R&B artist ISRAEL to be his official DJ which he continues to do til this day, and is also the General Manager of ISRAEL’s Nufirm Records, a position he takes great pride in. In November 2008, C-BU joined electro hip hop crew D.O.M.E. who have already drawn interest from record labels such as EMI and Destination? (a division of Warner), and are building a strong following in the underground scene. C-BU is also the official DJ for the world famous CARNIVAL Choreographer’s Ball’s Sydney leg (originally based in Los Angeles). His talents have also made an impact outside of Sydney, having played in other Australian cities regularly, in particular Melbourne, and also overseas to cities such as Bali, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur; C-BU even performed at the inaugural SOULNATION FESTIVAL 2008 in Jakarta, Indonesia, where C-BU not only performed with ISRAEL & international dancehall and R&B artist CHE’NELLE, but C-BU also followed AKON live on main stage. With countless ventures and DJ’ing opportunities yet to conquer, including his venture as part of the JUSTICE LEAGUE RECORD BREAKERS, aiming to break new music to Australia and creating a new way to promote good music, and THE LAZY MOFO’s, an electro house clubtablist crew with DJ’s Funk’n Fresh and Samrai (DMC Champion), there is no denying that C-BU’s resume might one day shatter those of the great DJ’s that influenced him to become what he is today.

Mindless Echoes started as an idea, an attempt to capture moments in the reality around us. What started as a project, a musical story of life-cycle: 12 chapters consisting of the 12 steps in a person perspective of life, soon became much more. This idea formed into an ...album and was entitled Rebirth. The original album was written and composed by childhood friends - Oded Kahn, former member of the Israeli Rock band Pai Mei, and Omri Luzon, former member of the Israeli Metal band Tears of Israfel. By the end of 2007 recordings of Rebirth started at Sound Music School in Tel-Aviv, Israel. Soon enough, it was apparent that the result was less than satisfactory due to production issues. After a short break it was decided to restart the entire project and form a band by searching for more professional musicians. Shortly after drummer Efi Tubi joined, a few months later bassist Erez Shermer, also a former member of the band Pai Mei and Limor Ballas, joined the band. Due to artistic differences Efi left the band and after a long process of auditioning, Adi Magal - former drummer of Low Profile, joined the band, forming the current line-up of Mindless Echoes. After few small local shows it was decided to work towards a bigger goal, and at 2009 Mindless Echoes started working on new recordings, 4 out of the 12 songs, enclosed as a self-produced EP. Along the basic line up the ambitious production included Erez on Upright Bass, Oded on Guzheng (Chinese Harp) and a series of hired professionals for backing-vocal choir, female solo and violins. The recordings took place in three of the finest studios in Israel, according to their proficiency – Gal-Kol Studio, Bardo Studios and Etztrubal Studio, and were made by recording engineer Roei Luster. Aiming towards international audience, the mixing took place in Studio Mega in Sweden by sound engineer Johan Örnborg and mastered at the same place by Christian Silver. The EP album was released at December 2009 and now the band is working on a tour both in Israel and Europe.
