Any great ideas to save a struggling bar / restaurant? 40 drafts Craft beer bar, Mexican / Cajun food, 15 plasmas and projector. Something like a movie night. Weekdays are suffering.

People are clipping coupons now to save money. Free appetizer with a meal (lunch only)... inexpensive kids meals with a little mexican trinket, popcorn is always good. I liked the kids movie day idea or cartoon day. Shrek...

is really trying vrey hard not to be "snarky with vark", but thinks all this answer proves is that some vark-sters have exceedingly too much free time. Vark needs to "aim higher" when trolling for compliments. Kinda sad, really.

I work for a software company. I'm a new employer (2 yrs). I wanna move to a new group as I wanna do something more interesting and challenging. But I don't know how I should go about doing that. Any suggestions in terms of the steps I need to take for internal job movement?

While I am a guide keep in mind I was only looking to find new ways to better the job I do (both for ChaCha and my other job) I wasn't downplaying the quality of your service or those who use it. :) I appreciate your detailed response though.

I've always thought Vark's USP is that it helps find answers to things where no one else has thought to ask the question yet.
Google/Cha Cha and various other "pay people to find answers" style solutions work best when the answer is definitive, already existing and potentially written down already.

Aardvark The research behind Aardvark: read the new blog post from Aardvark's CTO: http://blog.vark.com/?p=267

We’ve invested heavily in advanced research since we started Aardvark two years ago. This is an unusual move for a small startup company, which is expected to spend all of its time on a panicked frenzy of short-term releases. So why did we do it?

Ive still got negative 7 votes :-/ Dunno how it happened, a few weeks back I briefly had 260 O_o

Still, overall I love the system. Its like an improved version of Google moderator. I love the idea of not only using feedback, but letting us submit it and vote in such a logical and structured way.

Thomas, sorry for the confusion! That happens when we temporarily up the votes for an event. You must have been sneaky and voted on lots of things during that window :)

What Halloween advice have you gotten from other Varkers?

I am wearing a full puppy costume to work Friday, and I have a Halloween party that night. Somebody asked me out for a coffee date after work and is sooo cute, and excited. Would it be a bad date if the person you were dating showed up dressed like a cartoon puppy?
