Josh Levs CNN Even worse than expected. We're breaking it down for you, in the Newsroom. What do you think?

October was another costly month for Uncle Sam. The U.S. Treasury reported on Thursday that federal coffers racked up a deficit of $176.4 billion for the month.

Couple of questions that I have regarding the trend on the graph and where the deficit stands today. Do the numbers between 00 and 08 include the dollars spent to fund the operations in Iraq that contributed to the deficit? I had heard that those numbers were either not known or grossly understated. Also, do the October 09 numbers include these ... See Morenumbers as well. I believe it would be a more accurate assessment versus what appears to be such a huge/sharp spike (although I do realize there is new spending such as stimulus, $ for clunkers, homebuyers, etc).

New global report shows that U.S. merchants suffered an almost 10% jump in store theft over the past year, forcing consumers to pay more for goods.

I work at a big box store. The theft is amazing and creative. The thieves know where the soft tags are, they swipe Dremel accessories, batteries, drill bits, one screw out of a bag of 4 or so, gloves, etc. Hard tags and spider wraps don't deter them and we can't chase them. I'm angry, frustrated and feel powerless. How were these people raised? Is ... See Morethe drug effects clouding their thinking? Is it the thrill? Anyone in retail has to be frustrated by rampant theft and I just don't know what to do about it because I can't be everywhere in my department.

Ever wonder what information Google knows about you? With a click or two, now you can find out.
Dan

Not really. Heck, everybody knows everything about you anyway thanks to one's social security number, and a person putting what they are doing on social networks like Facebook and Twitter. Why should Google be any different?

Josh Levs CNN This Veterans Day, we're sharing your thoughts, showing how you can help veterans and their families, and breaking down some of what we all should know: How many wounded veterans are there in America? How many from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan?
Post thoughts here, and we may share them on air.

www.cnn.com
Long before people posted their thoughts and feelings on social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook, millions of people were doing just that on a different sort of wall. It might have been something as simple as a baseball, a playing card or a walking stick. ...

We have so many veterans that need and deserve our respect and support. I drive by a soup kitchen that feeds the homeless every day, it breaks my heart to see so many of our veterans lined up out side their door. What is it with a nation as great as ours that we let our most precious treasure have to exist like this. Many of them have both physical and mental problems they live with. They need us as much as we needed them.

Thank you for remembering and honoring veterans today. It means alot to veterans like me. CNN, please dont forget to mention Desert Storm veterans, especially those like myself with multi chronic illnesses from exposures and vaccines. Even though i have had a hard long battle for 18 years, i am proud to have served in the United States Air Force for 12 years active and 3 years inactive.

Shame on Obama for even considering dooming more American Servicemen and Women to DEATH for a white mans war that cannot and will not be won. Either he's just a spineless fool or he's truly afraid of shutting down the monster that is the military industrial complex.
