The BBC Children In Need Appeal has today appointed etv online, the full service digital agency of the etv media group, to design and develop the charity’s first social media fundraising microsite to support their ‘Doing Something Different’ campaign.
The campaign goes live this week to engage with audiences through onl...ine platforms, to increase the appeal’s reach and attract new audiences as well as ultimately raise more donations.The application will remain live until the appeal night on 20th November 2009 and will be focused around the BBC Children In Need’s hero item, the Pudsey bandana.
The site will enable users to upload their photo, purchase a virtual Pudsey bandana and post the image to their social networking page.Users need to donate £1 for their virtual bandana through Paypal and then save their image to their file system with all money going towards helping disadvantaged children and young people. Once saved, the image can be uploaded directly to their social network profiles on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and Bebo API.
The application will be hosted on the homepage of the Children In Need website the fundraising microsite can be found at www.pudseybandana.co.uk and www.pudseybandana.com.

Sky Real Lives has extended etv productions’ latest commission, Fat Pets, Fat Owners, into a three part series with an additional hour long special. The programme will have its own web portal which will launch this week ahead of the first episode’s transmission date of 16th July 2009 at 8:30pm.
