Did you know that Western Australia, Victoria, NSW and Queensland are talking about recommissioning or refurbishing old coal fired power stations, or even building new ones?

Bob Brown says: "Isn't it bloomin' marvellous that the Tasmanian state has diverted police from other duties to arrest our anti-pulp mill gardener?"

The Australian Greens Great article by Elizabeth Farrelly in today's SMH. But she says "And this, broadly, is the trouble with the green agenda. No jokes". What do you think?

Beside our lavatory sits a book called Grub: Ideas for an Urban Organic Kitchen. It's my fault. In a weak moment I ordered the thing for its impeccable provenance and rave reviews. But I forgot the first rule of mail-order: reviewers can be wrong.

good economics, it's as simple as that !!, get more economists and scientists on board Bob, I know there's allready a bunch there, I allways wonder about they'll show some demonstrators on TV, scaling the walls of parliment house etc...., basically some outragous stunt, then this coupled with a news saturation on all major channels of the incident... See More, only serves to make us out to be the crack pots etc...., sometimes some of these groups, I wonder who's behind some of them ?, evan if some of the people involved have a genuine interest in climate change, some to me anyway come accross as clearly a stunt that undermines the greens reputation....before anyway has a go at me for people demonstrating, I'm just making a point that sometimes these things can do more harm than good, and there are better ways to get people on board of good economic/environmental policy.....

The Australian Greens Help us ensure that positive changes to Youth Allowance are adopted and passed!

greensmps.org.au
Contact Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard and your local MP to send a clear message that her party needs to support the positive changes made to Youth Allowance legislation in the Senate. Simply saying there’s no more money to help those who need it most isn’t good enough any more.

With the Rudd Government's failure of an emissions trading scheme returning to the Senate on Tuesday, we Greens have been working hard to convince them to green it up.

NOTICE how we heard nothing from WA Premier Barnett and Federal Minister for smashing and grabbing on the environment Martin Ferguson both of whom have desperately been trying to rob this story of oxygen.
THIS IS precisely the reason why there must be no exploitation of the Browse Basin and no industrialisation of the Kimberley!

Well done Siewart, in your efforts to bring the spill to the attention of the Australian public.
This debacle cannot be left to simmer, then be forgotten, as the oil company and government, drag their feet for an independent enquiry.
We have this bull by the tail, we can't let go.
For the sake of the Kimberley region, we can't let go.
Is it possible to propose that the Kimberley region be listed as a World Heritage Site?

HHHmmmm, Plastic, that has to be one of mankinds greatest inventions, presently polluting the landscape and oceans, the oil company strikes again.. How many inventions, that could have been used to improve mankinds life on earth, have been bought by the oil companies and car manufacturers and mothballed, so as to ensure peoples dependance on the oil industry and oil based/reliant products.

James Talbot: typical cheap shot from someone who clearly doesn't give a stuff about anything that doesn't involve his own self amusement. We're about demanding the alternatives which the fossil fuel industries - in collusion with supine or capitalist idealogue governments - have actively worked to deny us for over 100 years!
