Jeffery Deaver The next Lincoln Rhyme book is called THE BURNING WIRE. It will be released in June 2010. Here's the synopsis: As Earth Day approaches, someone breaks into the power company and starts manipulating the electric grid in New York City to create "arc flashes," 5000-degree sparks that leap from electrical outlets and kill ...anybody nearby. It can happen at anytime, anywhere. Is it eco-terrorists, or a disgruntled employee of the utility, or some psychotic individual? Lincoln Rhyme, Amelia Sachs and the crew from the prior Rhyme books have to race against time to find and stop the killer before more people die. Meanwhile, Rhyme is working with Kathryn Dance and a police official in Mexico to find and trap his nemesis, the Watchmaker, who is in Mexico City to assassinate a businessman. And Rhyme is finally confronting the question of dangerous surgery to improve his condition. We will post more on www.JefferyDeaver.com soon.

I've read all the Lincoln Rhyme novels and I also like Kathryn Dance. But I've just finished both Twisted and More Twisted. Jeffery Deaver is the absolute Master, bar none, of the last-minute twist that you never see coming! His short stories are so fabulous, I wish there were a hundred more books like them! I consider myself a pretty astute ... See Morereader, and frequently can guess "whodunit" before the end. But in these short stories, and indeed in his novels, I have NEVER guessed the ending. He takes you right to the brink......and then throws you a curve. Mr. Deaver, you are the best!!
