I thought this was the greatest day in USA history. A young man who had values was elected and was hoping that the race issue that has held this country down would soon be gone.

Yes!!!! My father was very ill and encouraged me to work hard knocking on doors and to talk to others in hopes of getting you elected. My father wore your button, registered and voted from his bed. I have a pic of him sitting in front of your image on TV listening to your acceptance speach. He passed away Feb. 20th having overcome a prejudice that ... See Moredefined him as a man for many years. He died proud of you and proud of his part in putting you in the white house! It healed our relationship as well. God is good and he is with you!

I didn't like nor hate you, but I thought everyone deserved a chance. Now, after seeing how you were after a year.. I regret it. You arent a president, you're a celebrity. You haven't done anything but put everyone in more debt. You want the government to own/run everyhing. The Auto industry, health care, pretty soon our so called democracy will ... See Morebecome a tyranny. Great job! I'm glad that even though you are busy "getting us out of debt" you still have time to check your facebook... Which will probably in the near future become "governmentbook" after you take that over ad well. :)

"If someone in this room who was in Birmingham, Alabama ,in 1963, if somebody in this room who was here for bull Connor, who was here for George Wallace ,where you are, did you ever think some body like me would be standing on this stage presenting somebody who looks like barack obama and talking about the presidency of the united states of America ? Could you have believed it ladies and gentle men could you have believed it? "
this was how someone once introduced him on a stage during the election, this is how he felt , Jessie Jackson, when president-elect announced to be Obama, in tears . that how I felt.
I believed!! when he said "America is the place where all thing are possible!"

a well deserved one year celebration, ... See More

A lot has been achieved in short time, Nobel peace prize, executive order to close Guantanamo ,the Cairo speech telling Israel to stop expanding settlements in Gaza was brave, stem cell research, health care reform, drafted plan to pull out troops from Iraq, negotiating to take the first step in environment initiatives and the bail out saving the us economy and the world economy, stocks, brave enough to stop the wall st. and ceo's share the bail out money and more . change is a progress , he leading the change. cheers Mr. president

I'll never forget that day. I was watching and hoping and hoping that Barack Obama would win the election. When it was announced, I was so excited. I called my friends, my family, it was like New Years!

My sister told me that the first time she got to vote was for Bill Clinton and she's very proud of her vote. I'm happy that the first time I got to vote was for a president that I'm very proud of!

I see great things in the future with President Obama.

So many memories but the one that stands out is when I was at Grant Park in Chicago on the night of Nov 4. CNN, on the big screens above us, called the election. For a moment I didn't realize what had happened but it sank in when the people around me started screaming and hugging each other. What I will never forget are the faces of the older ... See MoreAfrican Americans around me a little later on... they just stood there with tears streaming down their faces. When Barack Obama gave his speech, I was too far back to see him but I decided it was about the people anyway, and watched everyone around me. I had become a citizen so that I could vote in 2004 (complaining takes you only so far) but got my citizenship 6 days too late. So 2008 was my first presidential election. I had spent a year abroad in '07 and never wanted to come back although this had been my home for 19 years, my entire adult life. It was shocking to find myself so hesitant to return and so averse to facing life here again. So I volunteered in Obama's campaign because I wanted to make this MY country. I had to. Well, apparently a lot of Americans born and bred here felt the same way...! I was in great company and really felt it during the campaign. So for me, the most poignant memory will always be the people.

"NATIONAL INVESTMENT DAY" a concept that i have. a day where Americans invest a min of $10.00 into our economy. If the people who voted in the last election do this (a little over 100,000,000) we put billions into our economy overnight. We make this idea a national habit we'll work ourselves out of debt and into a surplus that will last forever. We control market pricing and give financial control to the people

Give us a country to make your wife proud! Lord Barry heal the bitter ones! White and clinging to faith and to guns! Hope for the change of the hope of the change!
