Everytime you hear the word "olympic" remember that Harper is hoping the olympics will distract you from the fact that his Conservative government is under investigation for its complicity in torture.

@Sean - I think Ignatief is just as bad. He even wrote a paper back in the day defending it. I hope they find someone to replace him ASAP. As to the NDP - when it stops slapping Dana Larsen in the face, I might consider it again. For now, the party disgusts me. All the parties disgust me now actually - with the exception of the Bloc. Why can't they be a pro federalist party?

When will we say, 'elimination of violence against women, children, and men'? Is violence from one man to another OK, or against children?

Most of society's efforts have been directed against violence between men, and there are already substantial efforts against child abuse. But there is not nearly sufficient action to stop violence against women.

I really detest the massive waste of public funds for a sporting event.

You know, the Greeks honoured the arts as well as sports. There would be competitions in live performance and poetry. Why don't they do that any more? Now it's just sports.
