Many within our Winnipeg Folk Festival family may have heard of the loss of a talented young singer-songwriter earlier this week. Taylor Mitchell died after being attacked by coyotes while on tour in Atlantic Canada. Several of our volunteers and audience members got to know Taylor this summer when she was a particip...ant in the Young Performers' Program at the 2009 Winnipeg Folk Festival.
Folk musician David Newland has contributed some meaningful perspective and thoughts on the impact this has had in the folk community.
