The more people realize how bad meat is for their personal health and well-being the more likely they are to go vegan. It's the same egocentric attitude that got us into factory farming that may help get us out :)

I wish the people I knew would open up their minds and listen to these points. I have been unsuccessful thus far in my quest to educate. I seem to be surrounded by the most diehard (and I am afraid they WILL die hard because of it)meat eaters on the planet.

Stephanie - My objection to the meat industry is the raising of animals under less than healthy conditions which are then fed huge amounts of anti-biotics, growth hormones to boost the output and fed crap to cut down on costs, all to the profit of the meat growers and the detriment of those that do eat meat. Your solution is utopian and I don't ... See Morethink it is going to happen. Health costs are driven upwards by these practices. I am not discussing how they are getting slaughtered, but how they are getting raised. The number of vegans in this country is so small it is virtually impossible to eat in a restaurant in most places. The only benefit I saw going vegan was that my pH went up. The rest was just not worth the effort on my part and the pain it produced all who came in contact with me as far as food went. Besides, the vegan cheeses tasted like plastic.

The thing that I love about the Cattlemen's article is how they try to say each expose is the exception, and that the rest of them are doing a great job and are hurt by this one bad apple. Yeah, right. That's starting to wear pretty thin.
