First Congrats to Joe and Davin both. To come back from 5 BB's to win it all is a testament to the saying 'a chip and a chair". You have to be willing to go broke to win. Scared money never wins.

I want to watch the show again before I comment to much but I thought the HU was pretty str8 forward. Heads up is more about aggression than the cards... See More you're dealt and often comes down to a preflop all in between 2 pairs or suited connectors against pairs. Look into game theory as it pertains to poker and pushing preflop with any pr is +EV as is doing the same with high suited connectors. The one who hits the flop in a HU match is usually the winner.

I just wonder why Mr. Moon, who both caught cards and played so well, at the final table didn't seem to care about keeping his chips. Did he think well I've got 50 million so I can play every hand? Wouldn't it be smarter, even with the huge stacks, to play small pots and let the other maniacs knock each other out, then get 3 or 4 handed, THEN play bigstack bully? I'm just askin....

Yeah I didn't even try this year, but if I wanted no spoilers I would've had to have a complete media blackout. Yahoo sports had the final two, they were in a sports items section in my newspaper, and even Tony Kornheiser, on his radio show, mentioned the final table because the show is based in D.C. and Darvin is from Maryland.

People are finally starting to see the light. Thanks to countless efforts and organizations such as the PPA, we have a voice and a huge backing. If we all keep supporting and doing our part to defend our rights, we will prevail. I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel and this time it's not a train, lol. Thanks for all your hard work PPA. God Bless America

I still think it was BS they attached this to a port defense bill. It has not stopped it, not even slowed it. As a PPA member since day 1, I am happy that they have failed in banning it completely. If you are going to regulate it, tax it. There is no reason for banning it. If some stupid person loses their home, it was their fault.

Steven, all govt regulation is not a bad thing. Take for example some of the recent examples of cheating at online poker. The employees were viewing other players hole cards. They recieved minimal punishment for stealing thousands (or more) in other players monies. If the US govt has a hand in it, at least some of these people can be prosecuted. ... See MoreNot to mention, when you make a deposit, it won't be going to some unknown numbered acct. in the mediterranean. It will be safe and insured most likely. With these protections comes something called a tax. Right now, you owe taxes on your winnings anyway (whether you cheat and don't pay is up to you), but you have no protection for your deposits or winnings whatsoever.

I'm all for government regulation in poker. It means that more of the "bad" players play online without fear and it helps our country and our economy.

Why does the government have to regulate? Keep their damn hands out of it! The top sites need to make a consortium and regulate amongst themselves. This will include protections for their customers.

Government intervention NEVER works. It hurts the little guy in the end.

It's funny how government is be all end all for some people. Be a responsible person and regulate yourself. If the business fucks with you, take your money elsewhere.

As long as it it legal to play online again, I really dont care if the govenment or the companies themselves are the one to regulate it. Not being able to play has been a bad thing for a long, long time.

It is legal for you to 'PLAY'. It's illegal for U.S. based financial institutions to accept transactions with the poker sites. Of course the loop holes opened and U.S. players continued to play.

"It's illegal for U.S. based financial institutions to accept transactions with the poker sites." -- This isn't true. It's only illegal if the gambling itself is illegal, which it's not in the majority of the US.

You're getting into semantics here. My point is that U.S. financial institutions will not complete transactions if they know they are dealing with a poker (gambling) site because of the UIGEA law even if the gambling is 'LEGAL'. The sites themselves found loopholes to defeat this. This is a good thing.

A good player will beat a lucky player 9/10 times if you give it a huge sample size. Obviously a good player can never win 9/10 pots but i don't think that's what the author meant.
